About the Role
British Concordance International School seeks a meticulous, well-organized Academic Administrator to oversee all aspects of Pearson Edexcel examinations and Pearson BTEC quality assurance processes. This pivotal role will serve as the primary liaison between the school and examination boards while providing administrative support to the Head of School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examination Administration
- Serve as the designated Examinations Officer for all Pearson Edexcel examinations and assessments
- Manage the complete examination cycle, including entries, amendments, withdrawals, and certification claims
- Ensure secure storage and handling of confidential examination materials
- Create examination timetables, seating plans, and coordinate invigilation arrangements
- Oversee examination day procedures in accordance with awarding body regulations
- Process examination results and coordinate post-results services
- BTEC Quality Assurance
- Act as the Quality Nominee for all BTEC programmes, serving as the main point of contact with Pearson
Complete the Annual Quality Declaration and manage Edexcel Online account confirmation
- Monitor Lead Internal Verifiers to ensure standardization activities are completed
- Oversee assessment planning, including rule of combination compliance for safe certification
- Coordinate standards verification processes, monitoring progress across all programs
- Maintain records of reasonable adjustments and special consideration applications
- Facilitate internal verification processes and ensure timely submission of samples
- Administrative Support
- Provide administrative assistance to the Head of School as required
- Develop, maintain, and update center policies and procedures for examinations and BTEC programs
- Coordinate with heads of departments, teachers, and support staff on examination and assessment matters
- Maintain comprehensive records and documentation of quality assurance activities
- Support learner induction processes for vocational qualifications
- Professional Development
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes and updates from Pearson
- Participate in relevant training and networking opportunities
- Disseminate information to teaching staff regarding examination and quality assurance requirements
- Support teaching staff with their professional development needs related to assessment
Working Conditions
- Full-time position following the academic calendar
- May require occasional evening or weekend work during examination periods
- Potential for increased workload during key assessment windows and results periods
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Head of School
- Works collaboratively with Heads of Department, Lead Internal Verifiers, and teaching staff

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in education, administration, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in an educational administrative role
Demonstrated experience with Pearson Edexcel examinations and/or BTEC programs
Excellent knowledge of UK examination systems and vocational qualification frameworks
Strong understanding of quality assurance processes in education
Required Skills
Exceptional English language proficiency, both written and verbal
Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organizational abilities
Strong IT skills, including experience with examination and assessment management systems
Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure, particularly during examination periods
Superb interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with students, parents, teachers, and external organizations

Ability to interpret and implement complex regulations and procedures
